Individual Psychotherapy
A compassionate, body-aware approach to change, healing and the patterns that shape our lives.
There are times when we find ourselves caught in patterns we understand intellectually but can't seem to change. We may feel anxious, overwhelmed or disconnected, struggle in relationships, or find ourselves responding to situations in ways that don't quite make sense to us.
Sometimes these patterns have roots in earlier experiences – trauma, loss, difficult relationships, major life transitions, or times when we didn’t have the resources we needed to cope with what was happening.
Drawing on more than 25 years of psychotherapy experience, along with training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Somatic Experiencing (SEP) I bring conversation and body awareness together to help you understand what is happening within you with greater curiosity and compassion. IFS offers a way of understanding the different parts of ourselves and the roles they have taken on, while Somatic Experiencing invites us to notice how our experiences live in the body.
Together, they can open up new possibilities for healing and greater freedom in how we respond to ourselves and our lives.
Rather than viewing difficult thoughts, emotions or behaviours as problems to get rid of, we can begin to understand them as parts of you that have developed for a reason. When we approach these parts with curiosity rather than judgment, new possibilities can emerge.
My work is collaborative and paced with care. There is no expectation that you have to uncover everything at once or revisit the past before you're ready.
This isn't about erasing the past. It's about helping the past take up less space in the life you're living now.
Current availability
I maintain a small private practice that is currently full.
I work primarily with people who have attended a Befriend Aging workshop or retreat and want individual support exploring something that has surfaced.
